Children are constantly being told who they should be from every direction, so your role isn’t just to protect them—it’s to equip them. Help them build the confidence to know who they are and whose they are by giving them truth, clarity, and a grounded identity that can stand against the noise around them.

Have these conversations as often as needed, and start early—simple, age-appropriate talks about faith, identity, purpose, their bodies, and the world around them build trust and help guide your child before confusion does. Begin with the basics they can understand, and continue deepening the conversation as they grow. If your child is already a teenager, it’s not too late—just know they may need time to process what they’ve already absorbed. Lead with patience, clarity, and confidence, creating a steady space where truth and grace shape their understanding.

You set the tone, so approach the conversation with calm confidence and make space for your child to share what they’ve heard or are wondering about. Choose a safe, comfortable, distraction-free place where they can be open and honest. Pay attention to emotional readiness—both yours and theirs—and don’t be afraid to pause and revisit the conversation when hearts are settled. You don’t have to have every answer; you’re simply creating a space where truth, grace, and safety can guide your child well.
