We’re all about HELPING PEOPLE FOLLOW JESUS. It isn’t just our mission or something we say a lot; it is actually what we are about. It is why we exist. We want to see lives transformed with the good news of Jesus and help people experience the fullest life.

Our church is situated in the Central Park neighborhood of Denver, CO. We have people in our church from all areas of our city, from all walks of life, from different denominations and backgrounds. We own and meet in Hangar 61, an airplane hangar of the old Denver airport.

Our name Arise Church comes from Isaiah 60:1-3, which says:

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.”

Everything we do as a church, whether it is our ministries, outreach, or worship services, points people to the light of God. We want to help individuals, our community, and city arise to brighter and better things found in Jesus.

About the Kids Director/Pastor*:

Positional Expectations: The Kids Ministry Pastor/Director* leads and directs the Arise Kids ministry (birth through 5th grade) of Arise Church Denver, a ministry that both kids and parents love that helps kids become lifelong followers of Jesus.

The Why: Following Jesus is the path to the fullest life, and the KD comes alongside families to help kids begin that lifetime journey.

*At Arise, we license people to be pastors if they meet certain criteria. We would be open to hiring a pastoral-level or a directorial-level staff person. Both levels are open to men and women.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. DIRECT ARISE KIDS

    1. Actively recruit, train, and motivate a volunteer team to passionately minister to our kids in fresh and creative ways.

    2. Oversee curriculum, planning, and execution of the Sunday kids’ experience for those in-person and online. 

    3. Help kids through the baptism process and oversee child dedications.

    4. Collaborate with the Student Pastor to make sure the transition from Arise Kids to Student Ministry is smooth for kids.

    5. Develop family outreach (e.g. a summer kids’ outreach like Kids Camp, family events, etc.).

    6. Champion Arise Kids and our value of Next-Gen Investment.

    7. Be a welcoming presence for all Sunday services.

  2. MANAGE THE ARISE KIDS’ OPERATIONS

    1. Oversee the Arise Kids’ budget and supplies.

    2. Implement and communicate safety protocols and procedures, including regular background checks.

    3. Oversee childcare for big events and coordinate with other ministries to provide quality childcare workers.

  3. BE A TEAM PLAYER

    1. Jump in to help with all-hands-on-deck events (Christmas Eve, Easter, etc.).

    2. Perform all other duties as assigned.

The Qualities of an Ideal Candidate:

  • Passion for kids

  • Experience in Kids Ministry

  • Great communicator

  • Very organized

  • People-person

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

  • Follower of Jesus

    • Growing in love for God and his people

    • Committed to developing a personal relationship with Jesus

  • Member of Arise Church Denver, or willingness to become one.

    • Attends services weekly, participates in a community group, serves somewhere, tithes generously, and maintains integrity.

Salary and benefits  

$55,000-75,000 cash salary per year (depending on experience)

What it’s like to live in Denver:

Denver is a growing city at the base of the Rocky Mountains. From 2010 to 2019 the city grew by 21.2 percent, to 727,211 people. Taking in the entire metro area, there are 3 million residents. Denver is known for its 300 days of sunshine, thriving cultural scene, and its proximity to the incredible mountains. In its 2020-21 list, US News and World Report ranked Denver as the second best place to live in the nation.

Our church is located on the south end of the Central Park neighborhood (formerly Stapleton). It is a master-planned community of seven square miles on the site of Denver’s old Stapleton Airport. Nearly complete in its build-out, it will house nearly 40,000 residents. Known for its great schools, beauty, and walkability, the area contains numerous parks, restaurants, and shops, and a lot of people who need Jesus.

Colorado is in the bottom 10 states for religiousness. Denver itself is a city with twice as many dogs as Christians and more marijuana dispensaries than gospel preaching churches. We estimate that within just a five-mile radius of our church are 350,000 unchurched men, women, and children. This means our mission is vital in this city.
