Welcome to SOS (Students of Service) — the leadership and discipleship team of Turbulence Student Ministry.
SOS exists to help students follow Jesus and grow into servant leaders who influence their schools, homes, church, and communities for the Kingdom of God. This team is not about titles, popularity, or perfection. It’s about students who are willing to say yes to Jesus, take responsibility, and grow through intentional discipleship.
At Turbulence, we believe leadership flows from discipleship. Jesus didn’t build His ministry by using people to get work done—He used the work of the ministry to build people. SOS follows that same model.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms." — 1 Peter 4:10
We’re excited you’re considering taking this step.
— Pastor Roberto
Read each section below carefully and thoroughly—this is a must.
-
SOS is built around one central goal:
Helping students follow Jesus. Everything we do flows from that calling and is shaped by three movements.
BELIEVE: Growing in a personal and active relationship with Jesus.
BELONG: Taking ownership of the Turbulence community and walking in Christ-centered relationships.
BECOME: Being formed into servant leaders who live on mission in everyday life.
SOS is not about being the best—it’s about being available, teachable, and faithful.
-
Discipleship over performance – who students are becoming matters more than what they can do.
Formation over function – serving is a tool God uses to shape hearts.
Community over individuality – leadership is learned in relationship.
Faithfulness over perfection – growth is the goal, not flawlessness.
-

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters… It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” — Colossians 3:23–24
We’re excited to see how God continues to work in and through the students of Turbulence.
